Terrafirma Fire and Ice style Side Steps In Silver For Defender 90 2003 Onwards LR008379

To perform well off-road, a 4×4 vehicle needs good ground clearance. However, many modern 4x4s are also used as everyday family vehicles. Fitting side steps, also known as running boards, can significantly improve accessibility by making it easier to get in and out of the vehicle. They also enhance the overall appearance and provide added protection against minor knocks, such as door dings in car parks.

Most side steps are manufactured using a combination of steel and aluminium, with rubber or moulded non-slip tread plates for added safety. Available in a wide range of designs, including fixed and deployable options, side steps are typically designed to bolt directly to existing mounting points underneath the vehicle for straightforward installation.
